The church was founded by a group of Christians in the 1955.
At first they met in the local Army Cadet Drill Hall but eventually, in 1964, they built the present church in Beever Street, Goldthorpe. They were known as the Goldthorpe Pentecostal Church, and they were an independent church until in 1967 they entered into association with the Elim Foursquare Gospel Alliance which is an international Pentecostal movement.
Since then the church has maintained a Pentecostal presence in Goldthorpe and the surrounding areas and is very much involved in serving the local community.
On 10th May 1997 an extension to the church was opened and this effectively doubled the size of the building. The extension enables the church to offer a better venue for community activities such as the youth meetings and the Mother and Toddlers etc.
The church offers a warm welcome to all who prefer a lively, Spirit led style of worship, together with a firm Bible based ministry.
